The GA900/GA19 Vapor Pad humidifier filter is very important to the humidification process, helping to maintain the ideal humidity level in your home and improve the quality of the air you breathe. It’s not only a matter of comfort, but also of health.
How does the filter work?
When warm air from your furnace passes through the GA900/GA19 Vapor Pad humidifier filter, the water in the lining evaporates to provide moisture to your home.
For optimal comfort, during the cold season, the humidity level should be around 30%. Below this level, the air becomes dry, which can lead to the deterioration of your property and cause many discomforts: irritation of the mucous membranes of the nose and throat, dry skin, chapped lips, breathing difficulties, etc.
The use of a humidifier combined with the GA900/GA19 Vapor Pad filter can counteract these irritants and enhance the comfort of the whole family by releasing fine droplets into the ambient air.

The GA900/GA19 Vapor Pad humidifier filter is made by GeneralAire®. The pad is made of expanded aluminum and coated with a non-toxic hydrophilic material that distributes water evenly. Easy to install, the steam pad provides excellent performance until the last days of use. Good quality, it is more resistant and more durable than generic filters sold in large stores.
Manufacturer’s recommendations
Over time, minerals build up on the filter, preventing warm air from circulating efficiently. To maximize the performance of your humidifier, we recommend replacing the GA900/GA19 Vapor Pad filter at least once a season.

Please note: the pad is not cleanable. When attempting to remove deposits on the vapor pad, you may remove the hydrophilic coating as well. If this happens, your humidifier will be unable to provide moisture to your home. To ensure proper operation of your unit, please follow the manufacturer’s recommendations and replace the filter at the suggested interval.
